FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does Server Wrapped store our messages?

No. Zero retention: when you ask for a card, Bowbit reads only the channels you picked (public only by default), makes your GIF in memory, then burns the data. Nothing is stored, not the text and not even the counts. The only thing we keep is your server's settings.

What happens to the GIFs?

Posted GIFs auto-delete after 7 days. Tap Save and Bowbit sends you your own copy in DMs; it's yours to keep. Admins can tap Keep to stop the auto-delete for that post. We never keep a copy. Every GIF shows serverwrapped.com in its footer and on its end card, so anyone who sees a forwarded one can find us.

Which channels does it read?

Public channels by default. Private channels are only included if an admin opts them in with /wrapped-setup > Channels, and they never show on public cards. Every card says "Counting N channels", and anyone can tap πŸ‘€ What Bowbit reads in /wrapped to see the exact list. Check access in setup shows what Bowbit can actually open.

What are the commands?

Just two. /wrapped is for everyone: Today, This week, This month, Me (your own Wrapped, only you see it), Leave me out, How it works and πŸ‘€ What Bowbit reads. Admins (or a Wrapped Manager role) also get Server (the whole-server story) and More dates. /wrapped-setup is a step-by-step wizard for admins: Channels, Check access, Permissions, Theme, Schedule and Data and privacy.

What permissions does it ask for?

The Add to Discord button gives Bowbit's role View Channels, Read Message History, Send Messages, Embed Links, Attach Files and Use Application Commands, so it works straight away. Never Administrator. Want the least access? Use the Privacy-max install: it skips View Channels and Read Message History, so Bowbit only reads channels @everyone can already see.

Can a member opt out?

Yes. Type /wrapped and tap Leave me out to be skipped on every future card in that server. Bowbit keeps only a scrambled code that says "skip this person". Tap it again to come back.

How far back does it look?

Today, This week and This month for everyone; admins also get More dates. Bowbit reads history on demand, so it works the moment you add it.

Can it post a report automatically?

Not in this version. Admins make a server Wrapped whenever they like with /wrapped > Server. Each GIF is made fresh and the data is burned.

Who can see stats about one person?

Only that person. The Me button shows your own stats, just to you. Admins choose in /wrapped-setup > Data/privacy whether the top-members list appears on server cards.

Is it free?

Yes. Server Wrapped is free to add and use. No card, no trial.

Does it work in small servers?

Yes, there is no member minimum. If there is not enough activity yet, Bowbit just shrugs and says so instead of showing zeros.

What happens if we remove the bot?

There is no chat data to delete, because none is stored. Your server's settings are deleted 30 days after removal; add it back within 30 days and your settings are still there.
